On July 1st, 2009, at 10:23 PM EST, we lost our beloved Nitey after a long battle with cancer. She had beaten cancer twice in her life, but this third time, it finally won the battle.
Nitey became a member with us in 2006, and has been a devoted -=[USA]=- member, and our heart and soul ever since. No matter how bad she felt, no matter how much pain she was in, she always got on TS and logged into the game, not only to try to have some fun, but to perform her duties as an Admin to keep the server fun for all. There were days when she couldn't even speak, but she was on TS. No matter how many times we told her not to worry and to rest, she felt she had an obligation to the group, and she had to perform her duties no matter what. I remember not to long ago, when I was having lots of problems, moving back home from NC and being out of work, I got a phone call. It was Nitey. Just days after losing her husband in 2008, she took the time to call me and see if my family and I were doing ok. Here was a woman suffering from cancer, and a woman who just buried her husband, calling me to make sure my family was ok. She was an incredible woman, an incredible friend. As I sit hear holding back my tears to type this, I remember all of the times we played, and all of the times we spoke on the phone, and it hurts. I new this day would come, but it still hits me hard. Nitey's hallway will remain, and we'll do our best to keep it safe as she did. I spoke to her daughter the other day, and the family is doing well, maybe better than I actually. There are so many stories, so many good things to say about Nitey, I could sit here all day typing. I'll miss you Nitey, and we'll never forget you. Thank you for being a part of this group for all these years. Now that the fight is over, rest peacefully, as you so deserve. We love you!
